Kim Davis, the defiant Kentucky clerk who could not be budged from her moral platform regarding gay marriages, was ordered to jail today by a federal judge who found Davis in contempt. Davis has consistently rebuffed granting marriage licenses to homosexual and lesbian couples – despite the fact the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriages in late June.Kim Davis / Video screen shotWrites The Associated Press on Sept. 3, via MSN News: “Rowan County clerk Kim Davis and her deputy clerks were summoned to appear before U.S. District Judge David Bunning after she repeatedly denied them marriage licenses, cited her religious beliefs and ‘God's authority.’ The judge said she left him with no alternative but to jail her, since fines alone would not serve to change her mind.”The Apostolic, born-again Christian told Judge Bunning: “You can’t be separated from something that's in your heart and in your soul,” adding that the Supreme Court’s ruling legalizing gay marriage is anathema to her vows made to God.“I promised to love Him with all my heart, mind and soul,” Davis said, quoting the Scriptures, “because I wanted to make heaven my home.”
